250 children part of ‘Such is the Kingdom’ premiere in Glasgow Cathedral

Such is the KingdomSuch is the Kingdom is a ‘choral drama’ written by Matthew Todd, uniquely blending stage action and choral music.

The story is based on the part-history part legend of the Children's Crusade, France, 1212. We follow the story of a twelve-year-old boy called Stephen who leads an army of children on a crusade.

The two-night premiere, held in the magnificent Glasgow Cathedral, was directed by the writer and composer Matthew Todd with the 21 children the main cast being drawn the 6 primary schools in the Bannerman Learning Community from primary schools as well as 12 pupils from Bannerman High School.

Actor Philip Todd and baritone Benjamin France played adult roles.

243 of the P7 children in Bannerman Learning Community were also involved in the production as part of an exciting P7-S1 transition project.

The performance was professionally filmed and is available on DVD.
